Full Courses

We offer full training courses for the:

  • Restricted Radiotelephony Operator Certificates
  • General Radiotelephony Operator Certificates

Our Radio Telephony (RT) courses are divided into two modules each, being:

  • Theory Training - In preparation for the SACAA exam (The syllabus for this is similar for both Restricted and General)
  • Practical Training (Flight Plans & Radio Procedures) - VFR for Restricted and VFR & IFR for General

The theory module duration is the same for both Restricted and General but the practical training for General RT will require an extra session

Practical Test Preparation Course (Optional)

Your flight training ATO is required to do your practical training as part of your flight training and they must certfify that you have passed the CAA exam as well as that you have reached the required level of practical proficiency to undergo the Practical Radiotelephony Test. There may be instances where a candidate as already passed the CAA theory exam but us not in a position to get the ATO certfication - this applies more generally in the case of a candidate wanting to obtain a General Radiotelephony Operator certificate and have passed the CAA exam but have not yet enrolled for the flight training toward a higher licence or IF Rating. In these cases, we provide this course to extensively over the IFR practical elements of both Flight Planning as well as IFR radio phraseology and procedures.
